We are thrilled to share that Crystal Rose Fricker, President of Pure Seed, has been honored with the 2025 Fred V. Grau Turfgrass Science Award by the Crop Science Society of America (CSSA).
This national award recognizes individuals who have made significant career contributions to turfgrass science, including impactful research, leadership, and dedication to advancing the industry. The award is named after Fred V. Grau, a pioneer in turfgrass science whose legacy lives on through innovations in turf management and breeding.
Crystal’s selection is a powerful acknowledgment of her lifelong work to elevate the turfgrass seed industry through cutting-edge genetics, seed technology, and global leadership. Under her guidance, Pure Seed has developed industry-shaping varieties used on world-class golf courses, sports fields, and landscapes.
Dr. Cale Bigelow, a CSSA Board Member and long-time turfgrass colleague, presented the award.
The full recognition will take place at the 2025 CSSA Annual Meeting in November, where award recipients will be formally honored for their contributions to crop and turfgrass science.
